As per Jain
ideology, in this era, birth and death are eminent part
of the cycle of life, and this only gives a way to the
theory of “Rebirth” or “Reincarnation”, as soul never
dies just changes from one being to another in the next
life. As per epic, few souls uplift themselves from this
cycle of reincarnation by virtue of meditation, hardship
and good character and attain supremacy of life or
Salvation also commonly known in local dialect as “Moksha”.
These souls only are referred as “GODS”, and they preach
us the path to salvation, to these departed souls only
we refer them as “Tirthankars.” In this era for sure,
the count of these souls is Twenty Four.
